From Boone, NC take 321 N to Vilas. Take left at Skateworld to stay on 321(cross into Tennessee). Take a left onto Poga Street. Take a right ontoClawson Street. Take a right onto Dark Ridge Road. Park at barn and hike downthe trail. The left at Skateworld is simply just staying on 321. 321 and 421 are the same road until you get to Skateworld and you take a left there. It is about 15 miles from Skateworld to Poga Road which will be on your right. You stay on Poga Road for about 3 miles then take a right onto Clawson Road. Stay on Clawson for half a mile then take a right onto Dark Ridge. The road will fork to a driveway on the left and Dark Ridge continues to the right stay on Dark Ridge for 1/4 of a mile and there will be a big red barn on the left. There is a gate right after the barn which is where people park. It is a very long and strenuous hike so be prepared aka wear shoes not sandals.
