Andrey Ignatenko of the Ukraine was the winner of the first stop of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Series 2009. A cheering crowd of 30000 spectators welcomed the world’s best high divers at the series’ kick off event in the French city of La Rochelle. Diving from a 90 foot (27.5m) platform on Saint Nicolas Tower, windy conditions and 60°F (16°C) water challenged the 13 participants to compete at their highest level. redbullcliffdiving.com
