If youre ever in upstate NY, you should try to get to this place. It's awesome. It's a small, rock cliff inlet on the east side of the lake. Because of the way its shaped, it tapers down to the water at the front of it, and is highest in the back of the U (where we're jumping from in the pics). There are multiple jump spots from both sides in it, and they range anywhere from 5 feet up to about 50 in the back. The water is 160' deep, so theres NO chance of ever hitting bottom. It's incredible. Getting there is a small challenge though. There are 2 ways: by boat, or by hiking. If you have a boat, it should be no problem. Just put it in either in the town of lake george, or dunham's bay, then stay on the east side of the lake for a few miles until you see it (hard to miss.) If youre walking, its a little more difficult. From the village of LAke George, take Rt. 9L to dunham's bay and make a left on Pilot Knob Rd. Take that road all the way until the end of it, at the Ft. Ann town beach. Beyond that is a private residential area, so you have to park at the beach, and walk the rest of the way. Continue to walk down the road, and then take the first road thats on the right. Continue down this road all the way to the end of it, where there will be a house, and it will become just woods. There's a path in the woods that you can take to make hiking it somewhat easier. Follow this path, making sure you stay pretty close to the water, so you dont miss the cliffs by being too far inland. As long as your by the water, theyre impossible to miss. Its roughly a 30-35 minute hike from the car.
