This quarry is right in Fredericksburg just a few minutes from Mary Washington University. It is also a very popular spot to run and mountain bike. From Rt. 3 turn onto Bragg road, straight across from the mall, left if your heading east, right if your heading west. After 0.9 miles, Bragg road will turn into Fall hill ave. Follow Fall hill ave for 1.9 miles and there will be a parking lot on your right just before you get to the river. From Rt.1 turn onto Fall hill ave, right if your headed south, left if your going north. Go 0.6 miles and the parking lot will be on your left. From the parking lot it’s about 1.5 mile walk to the quarry. Cross the road and follow the trail along the canal.
The trail is very nice and there are some nice swimming holes in the river along the way. When you get to the quarry the jumps will be straight ahead of you. To get to them follow the trail on the right hand side that runs closest to the edge of the quarry, and look for ropes on your left. It’s a steep climb to get down to the jumps from the trail so people have tied climbing ropes there to help. The first rock you come to is the small jump, stay to the right along the edge of the cliff to get to the bigger jump.
