Directions: take highway 299 east from redding towards burney left onto Big Bend road and down the road about 1/2 mile, until you see the Hatchet Creek sign which is before a small bridge. Park your cars in the gravel, and take a small walk upstream to the falls!!! The swimming is awesome. The jumping is awesome as well. Do not worry about hitting anything in the water. Nice and deep! ( take some precautions early in the season i.e. April) There are many locals who love this spot and swear by it even with the abundance of other nice jumping spots as well. Gainers, backflips, and dives are not an uncommon sight. The biggest feat here was a gainer performed off of the 55' cliff. Heights: The log is anywhere from 1'-45' high. The smaller cliff is approximately 40' the highest cliff is approximately 55'
