Hudson, NY, which is about 45 minutes south of Albany. It is an old abandoned quarry that has cliffs ranging from 15-40 ft. To get there you get on route 23 east (Exit 21 from the NY State Thruway, then over Rip Van Winkle Bridge)towards Hudson. Make a left onto Fingar Rd. after first traffic light on Columbia County side of bridge (About 3 miles from bridge to turn). Follw this and make a left onto Newman Rd. at the first stop sign. Go about a mile and a half and you will be able to see water filled quarries on both sides of the road. You will need to make your way to the ones on the right side of the road (The left side is still part of an active mining site) There are some trails, so look for them. *Be careful of police, they will come in and kick you out (Or worse) if they see that people are in there. Your best bet is to park somewhere else and walk or ride a bike to the site. The water stays really warm in the summer and the cliffs are an awesome jumping spot for everyone*
