From Ambleside at the Norhtern tip of Lake Windermere take the A591 North, follow this until you see Rydal hall signposted on your right, take this turn off and park up on your left, (if you go past another lake you’ve gone to far,) from here take the small road on the right just past the entrance to Rydal hall and then follow the riverside path upstream which is on your left just before you reach the cafe, this path goes through some woods, over a bridge (to bring you out on the right side of the river,) through a door in a wooden fence and a few 100 meters later you won’t miss the jumps, (we’ve never even come close but make sure you don’t hit the submerged ledge when jumping from next to the waterfall.) There’s also a worthwhile jump easily found by walking through Rydal halls (public) gardens.
