The half-time stop of the Cliff Diving Series 2009 probably provides the most unusual location: the divers platform is fixed on a private house balcony. The house is built over the famous cliff of Polignano a Mare and looks integrated into the cliff itself. Within the international high diving scene, this spot is renowned for its uniqueness. It hosted the most successful cliff diving event in 2008: more than 20000 spectators watched Colombian Orlando Duque and Russian Sergey Zotin each scoring 162.00 points in a single jump. Polignano a Mare is a typical south Italian town in the province of Bari in Apulia and home for just a little more than 16000 people.
