Canyon River Falls, near La'Anse MI (in the Upper Peninsula): From La'Anse: take US 41 south, just past Alberta and the Michigan Tech forestry campus, there is a roadside park for Caynon River falls on the right. Park in the parking lot, and hike back to the falls. There will be a viewing area for the falls, continue on past this. about a quarter mile past the falls, the river will start to drop down on your left and the trail will start to climb up. There will be an opening on the cliff near a large boulder (on the right) and you will see that a small waterfall (about 6 feet high) has form a rather depe pool. This is the place you want to jump from. The water is plenty deep if you stay in the vicinity of the water fall. There are about six different ledges to jump from the highest being about 30 feet. Its a popular spot with the locals, so there are usually people around on a nice day.
