Details

Hodge Close Quarry is in the English Lake district, first drive to Coniston at the north end of Lake Coniston (which is easy to find,) then head north out of the village on the A593 and take your second left where you should see a signpost for Hodge Close. follow this road to near the end where the quarry is
right next to the road on your right and impossible to miss. There are a few ledges around the quarry but i’ve only seen the two below jumped from and both have to be abseiled down onto, a 40 meter rope is needed to get onto the 40ft ledge on the picture below, but only a 20 meter one is needed for the bigger jump shown (though you’ll then be left with a jump around 3 times larger.) the 40ft ledge has had a few jumps so far and seems safe enough but the larger jump has only had a jump from me an Matt leech, an my jump resulted in a severely bruised arse which could have been a lot worse so i’d only recommend it to the most experienced. the jump from the very top is probably do-able but the arse bruising has dented both mine and Matts confidence a little so we’ll be leaving that to someone a little more experienced/insane.
