From Auburn, California. Take hwy 49 south for 3 miles. This is the confluence of the north and middle forks of the American river. No hands bridge is about a quarter mile downstream from the confluence. Park on the west side of 49 on the El Dorado county side of the bridge (not no hands bridge, the hwy 49 confluence bridge) and it’s free. Park anywhere else and you’ll need to pay $10 for the privilege. While there, check out the Foresthill bridge. Highest bridge in CA, fourth highest in the country. All three bridges are visible from the confluence, along with one more bridge that spans the south fork on Old Foresthill Rd. pretty sure no hands is the only one that is “safe” to jump and I had never seen anyone do it until now…
